Play by Babe Ruth rules Age Restrictions: Player can not be 15 on or before Oct 16th of that current school year. If a player is 15 after Oct 16, 2009, they are eligible to play. Bats: No weight limit- can use big barrel bats as specified in Babe Ruth rules Pitching: Each pitcher is limited to 7 innings per week (as specified in Babe Ruth rules). If player pitches 4 or more innings in one day, he must have 2 complete days of rest and can not pitch until the 3rd day. Batting: Team can play the EH (10th batter) and this person can be used in field at any time and does not have to report in to umpires. Time Limit: No Time Limit. Mercy Rule: Twenty (20) runs after 3 innings, fifteen (15) runs after 4 innings or ten (10) runs after 5 innings. Baseballs: Babe Ruth approved baseballs ONLY (Diamonds, DBR or DBR1, Rawlings, RBR or RBR1, etc) JV RULES: All rules above apply to JV teams in addition to these:
No more than 15 players on roster. 6th and 7th graders only. No 8th grader may play on the JV team. A 6th or 7th grader can play on varsity.
There will be no limit to the number of call ups allowed per player, but he cannot catch or pitch. . Players can be added to Varsity roster for end of season tournament. 2 ½ hour time limit. Games start at 9:00am.
Reschedules: are to be done by HOME team on the NEXT AVAILBLE DAY! If rained out on Tuesday, game should be played on Wed. if conditions are ok. Home team is to determine conditions. David Sherrin needs to know if games are canceled ASAP before game time. His cell # is 704-242-2295. Head coach ONLY is to call David on reschedules and rainouts. Also, please report no shows to David . If rainout happens during game, the umpires will be paid by inning as per sheet handed out. If umpires show up and game is not played due to conditions, please remit $10 to each umpire for gas coverage. Umpires: David Sherrin should be paid in full by first game. Cost is $80 per home game (13 games, 6 @ $80.00 per game + $40.00 for 1 game = $520.00), booking fee ($20), web site cost ($50) = $590.00. The tournament fees will be paid by the 8 teams qualified to play. These fees will be paid prior to the first game of tournament or team will forfeit out of tournament. JV fees as follows: $75.00 per home game (6 @ $75.00 = $450.00), booking fee is $20 = $470.00. Tournament fees: 6 games @ $75.00 each = $450.00 \ 7 teams = $65.00 per team. $470.00 + $65.00 = $535.00. These are to be paid to David Sherrin as well prior to the first game.
